I suspect that this deal is designed to increase tensions between Saudi Arabia and Iran and to undo the diplomatic success of the Chinese brokered Saudi/Iran rapprochement.

Biden needs a foreign policy win. Biden and his handers do not care about any of this.

That’s the correctly cynical take.

Absolutely no one thinks the Saudis are going to invade or attack Israel making the idea of a “peace agreement” pretty pointless.

The Saudis know, as you point you, that US presidents wants these Rose Garden ceremonial signings to make them look like serious presidents of years past and give them a foreign policy “win”. The question the Saudis want to know is how much Biden is willing to pay for it.

It’s a shakedown from top to bottom.

The questions "is it a good deal?" or even "does it benefit the US?" never enter into the equation.

Moral arguments are meaningless to a sociopath, except to the extent that they are convenient or useful at the moment.

The Palistinians are being treated the way the Nazis treated the Jews and other non white ethnicities during the 30s to the 2nd WW. I find it difficult to understand how present day Zionists are mirroring Nazis considering?? As far as giving military aid to the Saudis all I can say is: WTF! We are as sociopathic as the Zionist and Saudis...they are us. The Israeli, Saudi and USA militaristic hegamony needs ending for humanity sake. IMHO

I think an Saudi-Israeli peace agreement would be a great thing. In fact, why not be more ambitious and have a peace deal with the entire Arab League at the same time!

As luck would have it, the Saudis already proposed how to do this over 20 years ago that didn’t require the US to sell what’s left of its soul to achieve it. It also lines up perfectly with the long stated goals of the United States on achieving a just and lasting peace between Israel and Palestinians.
