Vance's Afghanistan Withdrawal Nonsense
The loudest critics of the withdrawal have always been hawkish dead-enders and prominent members of the foreign policy establishment.
J.D. Vance is campaigning as a brain-dead hardliner on foreign policy:
The GOP vice presidential nominee said that withdrawal was “the worst humiliation this country has endured since the fall of Saigon, and Kamala Harris said she is proud of what she did.”
Then, when a man in the audience yelled that this was “treason,” Vance concurred.
“It was treason,” he told the audience.
The U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan was one of the big policy decisions that Biden got right as president. The decision to withdraw was in the best interests of our country, and Biden deserves credit for making it happen despite significant resistance in Washington and from within his own administration. The loudest critics of the withdrawal have always been hawkish dead-enders and prominent members of the foreign policy establishment. They would have kept the U.S. stuck in Afghanistan for another generation if they could have, and for their own petty opportunistic reasons Trump and Vance would rather side with the Blob.
