The US/Israeli goal here is ethnic cleansing of Gaza, and barring that, outright genocide. October 7 was but the pretext, much the way 9/11 provided a convenient pretext for the so-call "Patriot Act" and for the Second War On Iraq.
The only difference is that the US pretends to care about civilians, while Israel does not and knows that it can rely on its American goons to crush any dissenting voices.
The question is whether, after genociding Gaza, Israel will turn its attentions towards the West Bank and/or demand a war on Iran.
