Of course, the AP should have fired the edit chain that let this guy publish his one-source claim. Their response should have been, "One source for this dangerous an allegation? Get real." But as you suggest our documented need for actual facts and evidence matters not. The AP threw on under the bus and can call it a day.

From what I understand, the Polish government wasn't able to suppress the photos in time, and thus were forced to act responsibly.
