I have never understood the perfidy with which the US Government operates, particularly in regards to foreign populations. Apologies? Reparations? Justice? No, such acts of decency will only serve to strengthen our enemies! Meanwhile, the people of Afghanistan suffer, as the people always do under sanctions. But this is outright plunder, just as it is with Iran.

The US government does this because they're evil, and not to accomplish any foreign policy goal.

It is so obvious that sanctions over the years have accomplished nothing, other than suffering and resentment on the part of those who are sanctioned. One wonders who exactly in the US government is making these decisions, despite the overwhelming evidence that sanctions are counter productive. In the most recent iteration, we find that our allies have imposed sanctions on themselves as a means of punishing an adversary. Time will tell if this will cause a backlash.

The theft, plain and simple, of these funds is so morally repugnant when layered on to all we have done to the Afghan people. Our presidents are war criminals on so many levels, I just can't believe party loyalists can defend their "man" no matter how egregious the actions.
