It should be mentioned that many of the congressional seats were filled by guests of the rabid defenders of Israel since many Democrats and other congressmen and congreswomen boycotted the speech. The speech gave the impression of support but was to a large extent theatre. Reality were the deomonstrators outside.
Well Americans could protect domestic civil rights (of free speech, to protest etc) from the sinister pro Israel lobby which apparently has so much power in your country. You can’t do much about Gaza but you can about students being carted off in handcuffs, as happened to the daughter of neighbours who attends Colombia.
The useful idiots, of course, were the members of Congress in his audience, clapping and standing and cheering.
