I agree with Julian Assange that the U.S. wages endless wars for the sake of profit. Otherwise, someone in leadership would have noticed that the U.S. military has been getting its ass kicked in the Middle East for the last 20 years in countries that have no armies, navies or air forces. So sure, the next logical step for a military that was chased out of Afghanistan and checked in the Red Sea by bands of impoverished tribesmen is to fight a war with a country such as Iran that can fight back by closing the Hormuz Strait and firebombing Tel Aviv for example.
