Twenty years after the illegal invasion of Iraq, it is depressing that we are still debating the “merits” of criminal aggression against another Middle Eastern country.
Unless and until the perpetrators of wars of aggression face very real and very personal consequences, nothing will change.
As it is, the perpetrators of The War On Iraq are still hailed as Serious Thinkers and Toughminded Foreign Policy Experts, even though none of their rosy predictions came to pass.
Those who argued against the War were cast into Outer Darkness, even as the War proved more disastrous than the naysayers foresaw.
Of course, there also is the baleful influence of Israel and its lobby upon American policy.
