So it seems the intent of these writers' proposal is not so much to protect Georgia and Ukraine but to provoke Russia into some hostile reaction...and then what? I remember what happened when the President Kennedy installed nuclear capable Jupiter missiles in Turkey in 1961. Russia responded by installing nuclear weapons in Cuba. This is the closest we ever came to all out nuclear war with the Soviet Union. Sadly, much of our national security elite has learned nothing.
