Making the situation is entirely the point. The point is to get Ukraine to fight Russia and then to use that to pressure Germany to cancel NS2.

“Status-quo Joe” is correct, except when it comes to ratcheting up the new Cold Wars with Russia and China. Poking the bear over Ukraine and rattling China’s cage over Taiwan seems to me to be an order of magnitude more dangerous than anything Trump did. Trump was willing to reduce tensions with Russia and even with North Korea, until our national security Deep State made sure that would never happen. Unlike the third-rate or fourth-rate military adversaries we usually pick fights with, Biden seems more than willing to serve the Deep State’s agenda, even if it risks war with nuclear armed states. Biden has put us on a road to disaster.

Even the Afghanistan withdrawal was poorly done: first, they uselessly reneged on the date agreed to by the Trump administration, then they operationally messed up when they did finally leave.
