These hawk knuckle-draggers of the “sensible center-right” and “moderate” establishment are far more extremist and dangerous than the performative hooliganism of the Trump populist right.

It’s basically “let’s invade Mexico” because vials of cocaine and fentanyl are just jumping up the noses and into the veins of innocent unsuspecting Americans and this radicalism as policy gets taken seriously.

Everyone understands these policies will be ineffective in ameliorating the specific supposed threats and destabilizing for a thousand other unintentional reasons, but that is immaterial and they just don’t care. They know they will never get held to account for it if these policies get enacted.

There would be no drug trade in Mexico, if U.S. residents did not have an insatiable appetite for dope.

This in turn begs the question of why are my fellow citizens so desperate to get high.

I thought Barr had a little more sense that this ridiculous hair-brained scheme. I'm less surpriseed but equally disgusted by this resolution in Congress. AMLO will be inviting in Russia and China to help defend against the war mongers to the north. I thought the great wall was all we needed. Now we need military action. It just gets more ludicrous by the day.
