U.S. Power Is Not the Cure for Global Disorder
The belief that the U.S. can “restore equilibrium” by projecting more power is wrong and dangerous.
Nadia Schadlow wants you to believe a fairy tale:
Chaos is spreading throughout the world as a direct consequence of America’s failure to deter Russia, Iran and China. The balance of power in key regions is faltering, leading to instability and global disorder. Like it or not, the U.S. is the only force that can restore equilibrium.
Aa U.S.-armed government is devastating a densely-populated civilian area as we speak, and it has already killed thousands of innocent people in just the last few weeks. There are no signs that the collective punishment of the people of Gaza will end anytime soon. It seems likely that things are only going to get worse unless there is an immediate ceasefire and an emergency influx of humanitarian assistance. Food, water, and fuel are all running out, hospitals lack power and adequate supplies to treat the sick and injured, and people are living under some of the most intense bombing in decades. While this goes on, the U.S. offers unconditional support for the occupying state that is dealing out all this death and destruction. Pretending that the U.S. is some sort of stabilizing force while it enables these horrors is deranged.
