The president has carried out his insane tariff threat against Brazil:

The United States on Wednesday made good on its threats to apply 50 percent tariffs on Brazil two days ahead of schedule and slapped sanctions on the Supreme Court justice overseeing the criminal case against former President Jair Bolsonaro.

It is important to remember that this is the president’s arbitrary and illegal action. This isn’t a feud between the United States and Brazil, as some reports describe it. The U.S. and Brazil have no serious disputes, and there is nothing that would justify this aggressive economic warfare against our neighbor. It is Trump’s petty personal vendetta and more evidence of his corruption.
