Trump's Pathetic Deference to Netanyahu
If there is no price for Netanyahu’s reckless and illegal actions, it is guaranteed that he will lash out at other countries in the region whenever it suits him.
As expected, the Trump administration will do nothing to penalize the Israeli government after its strike on Doha:
“We are focused on what happens now, what happens next,” Secretary of State Marco Rubio told reporters in Jerusalem on Monday, a suggestion the US wants to move on from the diplomatic fallout that arose from the assault.
If there is no price for Netanyahu’s reckless and illegal actions, it is guaranteed that he will lash out at other countries in the region whenever it suits him. Probably the only thing that could keep Netanyahu in check is the fear of permanently damaging the relationship with the United States, and he has no reason to fear that. Biden and Trump have gone out of their way to let him get away with everything. There is evidently nothing that Netanyahu can do that would prompt more than a “heated” phone call.
