The president goes on his corruption tour of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE this week. All three governments will be currying favor with Trump, and we can assume that they will do whatever they can to flatter and bribe him to their benefit. It is a given that there will be conflicts of interest with Trump’s business dealings, and it is very likely that the U.S. will end up bearing the cost of whatever arrangements he makes with the despotic clients to secure their “gifts.” None of this will serve the interests of the United States or the American people, but Trump, his family, and his cronies will likely reap large rewards.
