Support for Going to War over Taiwan Remains Tepid
The public supports measures to assist Taiwan in the event of a conflict but there is still reluctance to intervene directly by sending U.S. forces to Taiwan.
The Chicago Council on Global Affairs released the findings of a new survey of U.S. public opinion on issues related to Taiwan earlier this week. It contains updates on several questions that they have asked before. Once again, the survey finds that the public supports measures to assist Taiwan in the event of a conflict but there is still reluctance to intervene directly by sending U.S. forces to Taiwan.
