'Quietly Working' Doesn't Work

No doubt Biden would like to have it both ways where he gets to take credit for backing Israel to the hilt and somehow also get credit for doing the opposite, but no one can take this seriously.

The president said something after antiwar protesters interrupted a speech he was giving in South Carolina and demanded that he call for a ceasefire:

I understand their passion and I have been quietly working with the Israeli government to get them to reduce and significantly get out of Gaza and using all that I can to do that.

The Israeli military is certainly reducing Gaza to rubble, but I assume that isn’t what Biden meant here. The claim that he has been “quietly working” to get Israeli forces out of Gaza would be laughable if the situation weren’t so serious. The president is obviously not “using all” that he can to do that. He isn’t even using a fraction of the leverage at his disposal, and everyone knows it. The president’s smug dishonesty on this question just adds insult to injury.
