Marco Rubio is still obsessed with regime change in Venezuela and has been pushing for the U.S. to topple Maduro:

The push by top aides to President Trump to remove Nicolás Maduro as the leader of Venezuela has intensified in recent days, with administration officials discussing a broad campaign that would escalate military pressure to try to force him out, U.S. officials say.

It is being led by Marco Rubio, the secretary of state and national security adviser.

The U.S. should not seek regime change in Venezuela. The U.S. has no right to topple the Venezuelan government or remove its leader. Seeking to remove a foreign leader is the worst sort of lawless meddling. There is also no compelling reason for the U.S. to do this. Maduro is an awful leader, but he and his government pose no threat to our country. The Venezuelan government has done nothing to the U.S. that could possibly justify intervening to topple their leadership.
