Lunatics with Nuclear Weapons

The U.S. and Israel started a major war to “prevent” something that wasn’t going to happen.

The president keeps repeating his big lie about the Iran war:

“You know we’re in a war,” Mr. Trump said in Florida. “Because I think you would agree we cannot let lunatics have a nuclear weapon.”

It is important to remember that everything that the president and his allies say to justify their attack on Iran is dishonest. Iran’s government was not building nuclear weapons before the attack in 2025, and it still wasn’t building them before the attack in 2026. Iran has not had anything resembling a nuclear weapons program in more than twenty years. There was no threat from Iran’s nuclear program, imminent or otherwise.
