Kagame Sets Congo on Fire Again
Paul Kagame has been at this for so long that it would be more accurate to say that cross-border aggressors elsewhere are copying his tactics rather than vice versa.
The Economist says that Rwanda “does a Putin in Congo” following the Rwanda-backed M23 capture of the eastern Congolese city of Goma. That may be useful for getting people in the West to pay attention to what Rwanda is doing, but it is important to understand that this is exactly what the Rwandan government has been doing in Congo for almost thirty years in different forms.
