J.D. Vance, Iran Hawk
It’s on Iran and the nuclear deal where we can see that Vance’s loyalty is to whatever Trump has done.
J.D. Vance won the Republican nomination for Senate in Ohio yesterday:
J.D. Vance won the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate in Ohio on Tuesday, emerging from a crowded field with the help of a late endorsement from former President Trump to win with roughly a third of the total vote.
Trump’s endorsement seems to have propelled Vance to victory in the primary. Vance was rewarded for his obsequious pandering over the last year. There has been a lot written about Vance’s turn from Trump critic to becoming one of his cheerleaders, so I won’t dwell on that for very long. It is not so different from the story of the GOP as a whole. The party went from initially scorning Trump to becoming a party filled with yes-men, and Vance is just the latest one to abase himself. That doesn’t interest me all that much, but now that Vance is a Senate nominee it would be a good idea to take a closer look at what he thinks and what he is likely to do if elected in the fall.
