Israel Bombs Damascus Again

These repeated acts of aggression against another country have mostly been met with shrugs from the U.S. and its allies.

Israel has launched more illegal attacks on Syria, this time targeting Syria’s defense ministry in Damascus:

Israel carried out a series of airstrikes Wednesday on Syria’s Defense Ministry in Damascus, causing injuries in an escalating conflict with the new Syrian government, according to an Israeli military statement and Syrian state television.

The official excuse for the illegal attacks is that Israel claims it is protecting members of Syria’s Druze community. This is just a pretext for bombing, but Israel would have no right to attack the Syrian government even if it were true. It is absurd to think that a government currently committing genocide in Gaza is genuinely motivated to conduct a humanitarian intervention in another country.

Syria is unable to fight back, and Netanyahu wants to kick them while they are down.
