Haley's Deranged Foreign Policy Worldview
When it comes to foreign policy, Haley is every bit as bad as Trump, and on some issues she is clearly even more deranged and reckless.
Nikki Haley has once again reminded us that the only available Republican alternative to Trump is horrible:
Nikki Haley called Monday for the U.S. to “take out” any Iranian leaders who support the group that conducted a drone strike that killed three U.S. troops in Jordan.
Haley isn’t going to be much of a competitor for the nomination, and her reflexive hawkishness is one important reason why. While she likes to deny that she is a warmonger, here she is openly calling for committing acts of war against the Iranian government because of something that an Iraqi militia did. Haley is calling for the assassination of multiple Iranian leaders, and presumably this would be done on Iranian soil. Besides being a flagrant violation of U.S. and international law, that would all but guarantee a war with Iran that would throw the region into even greater chaos.
On this and many other issues, she is no different than the militarists in Congress like Lindsey Graham and Tom Cotton, both of whom have jumped at the chance to attack Iran directly. When it comes to foreign policy, Haley is every bit as bad as Trump, and on some issues she is clearly even more deranged and reckless.
