Graham's Deranged Tirade
This just shows how deranged and divorced from reality his view of Iran really is.
Some Iran hawks are worried that their threat inflating demagoguery is getting drowned out by events elsewhere:
Stopping a nuclear Iran is the world’s most pressing issue today, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) said Monday in Jerusalem.
Graham is wrong about this as he is about so many other foreign policy issues, but it is worth saying a little bit about the senator’s tirade. He calls Iranian possession of nuclear capability “the game-changer of all game-changers,” but this doesn’t make much sense. It might be undesirable, but it would be a predictable outcome of the disastrous Iran policy that Graham and other Iran hawks supported for the last several years. It would not be a “game-changer,” and it certainly wouldn’t be the most important issue in the world. Iran hawks have had the luxury of not having to compete for attention for most of the last twenty years, and now they are desperate to reclaim some of that attention now that it is being diverted to other parts of the world. This requires them to make ever more outlandish claims to make people focus on their obsession once again.
