Getting Justice for the Victims of War Crimes
This is exactly the kind of courage and oversight that we need from members of Congress, and it is terrible that there is still far too little of it.
Rep. Ilhan Omar asked Secretary Blinken a very good question in a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing this week about holding war criminals accountable: “If domestic courts can’t or won’t provide justice, and we oppose the ICC, where do we think victims are supposed to go for justice?” Blinken’s answer was laughable:
