I’m no fan of Biden but must give him credit for his decision to get us out of this disastrous situation and sticking to it in the face of right-wingnut criticism.

Now comes the various self-justifying attempts of the ruling classes to avoid blame for this humiliating collapse. This tweet by Gregg Carlstrom, as cited in the blog Moon of Alabama, perfectly captures my own cynical view:

“Boggles the mind that every single person involved in the post-9/11 fiasco has not gone into seclusion, made a public apology, committed seppuku, something, anything. There's more accountability for a McDonald's franchisee than the foreign policy/national security establishment.”

Neocon ideology can never fail! It can only be failed!

Seriously, this is like Leon blaming his team's loss, not on his six fumbles, but because his teammates didn't pick up the ball in time.
