The war mongering media has everyone I know convinced that China is a threat to US freedom, as absurd as that is on its face. When I ask them how China is a threat, they can only come up with computer chips. Really?
This is why I call it the military-industrial-political-media complex. All four want war, war, war.
Whenever I see polling numbers on American views on China, I tremble. Oh, there are those who say they don't want war but are so completely paranoid, it will take nothing for these to be pulled into the war camp. Then there is the by-god-bravado crowd that represents too much of our real character as a nation. WE are the rulers of the world! Exactly how many nuclear powers do we think we can fight before, in final desperation, we resort to nuking Beijing, Moscow and ourselves? Mead is but one voice in a very loud and obnoxious choir, and the volume increases weekly.
Because containment is not the goal.
